When I decided to change over to coil over springs, I bought a Heidts front shock/spring set from Kenny's Rod and Kustom in Ohio. After talking to their people it was decided to go with 400 springs but from your experiences, I may have to go heavier. It doesn't sound like my Cleveland is going to be very happy with those 400's. My shocks install at a length of 13 inches so it appears that I am running longer springs than the ones from R & C so not sure if that matters or not. I bought them that long so I could mount them to the roll bar down tubes. I believe I can exchange them if I don't scuff the powder coating all up. We will just have to wait and see. Thanks for the info :Handshake

Sorry guys, I ordered my tie rod ends and forgot to ask what size springs he is sending me! :slap:

It was a VERY busy day, and I was ordering parts while driving to work.

From what I have been looking at, the coilover kit is only different in that mine has a spring "hat" at the top, and the coilover kit has a coilover mount at the top.

My lower control arms from Full Tilt are built the same either using coil over or full sized springs. They weld on a full sized coil spring seat if that is the route you choose. I cut my spring seats off and clearanced my stock spring top hats and my coil overs mounted in the same place as my shock would on the lowers :)

I should have been more clear, what I meant was the spring rates might be calculated differently for the two styles of suspensions. Not sure if this is the case, but I wouldn't want to mislead anyone... :Handshake

Springs got here, still in the Moog box. Moog 8578, 1135 load, 352 spring rate, 12.75 free height.

Still don't see how those springs will just shove in. I am going to need a spring compressor...
