Have you ever stumbled onto something Maverick, or car related in general, that just stunned you for a second? Well that happened to me today!

I was at one of the many shops I service today. Not really doing anything important. Just stopping in to see how they are doing, that's all. As I was leaving I was in the office and one of the body men asks me how my Maverick was coming along. We chatted about it for a few minutes. When I was done talking the owners nephew/ shop foeman pipes in and says, "we have an NOS rear bumper for a Maverick in the rear building".

Now mind you, I have been going into this shop for 8 years now, I know them well. They know I play with cars and that I am building this Maverick. But for some reason it never crossed their mind I may have interest in the bumper. Really?!

My response to him was, "you know I am not leaving until I see it, right?" Off we go to their back building, and sitting on a shelf was this bumper. Most of the original wrapper was disintegrated due to time. But the bumper is nearly perfect!

It needs a good cleaning, been sitting on this shelf for many years now. But completely rust free. A little dirty but nice.

It is for sale, he just needs to talk with his uncle, the owner to find out how much.

    So, what is it worth?????

All you are seeing on this is dirt, no rust.

Look how perfect the sticker with the part number is.....

Very cool. In my opinion, If the chrome is nice I would say 250-300 is a fair price. That is about what it costs to rechrome a bumper.

If it doesn't need a rechrome....the price goes up. If it needs a rechrome...the price goes down.

The chrome looks like it would be near mint for the quality Ford put out back then. For me and my taste, it would need to be rechromed to match the front bumper.

Maybe if you pay enough for it, they will tell you where the front bumper is.:rofl2:

You are always first inline. :rofl2: You must own a boat because you can troll like a pro.

All kidding aside I would give $200 if it was a perfect chrome plug and play bumper.

Time will tell. He knows I want it. I am just waiting for him to decide what he will take for it. I can't be an ass here because I am their rep and I can't let our business over a bumper screw that up.

    I have to play nice.
