Me and a friend went to the junkyard today and found a 73 Maverick that just happen to arrive in the yard yesterday. I got a near perfect grille, headlight and hood trim. I grabbed the Z-bar to add to my parts list in case I go with a 5-speed later on down the road…and a few other small parts while the gettin’ was good. Also found M.A.V. an ash tray for his ’66 Fairlane, which he doesn’t know about yet. My friend got a bunch of parts for his ‘65 Galaxie that he is restoring.

Good find - I can't remember the last time I saw a Maverick or Comet in a junkyard in Pa :thumbs2:

Pedals were gone on this car. That was the first things I looked for when I notice the shift linkage next to the steering box. This yard has 7 Mavericks and I got a set of pedals last year. The other 6 were column shift automatics. I need to go back and get the power brake swap parts off 2 of the Mavs and maybe the front valance off this '73.

    Z Bar

I bought some clutch pedals for the same reason. I only hope if I decide to go manual I can find a z-bar....nice score!

Well I can tell you this much.....if you guys are going with the t5 trans the z bar won't help due to the clutch arm bean pulled towards the motor and not pushed away

I'm planning on using an adapter plate between the bellhousing and transmission. This way I can use a Long style clutch and not worry about having the cable stretching or deal with installing a quadrant under the dash. Everything under the hood will still look factory correct.
