I need a good easy way to clean my intake im going to put on in a couple weeks, its always been a tough job cleaning these intakes for me. Like always I need some info as u can see its nasty
i'll tell ya what i did with mine. sand blasted it with a really fine sand then blew it of really well and it looked fantastic as good as new or better then took a high temp clear coat and put a few coats on and wow it looks good and cleans up ten times easier now when i spray it off. hopefully don't need to tell ya to tape up the carb plate and plug the holes.(did my aluminum valve covers that way to)
yep.. that or glass beading for an even shinier look. either way they need to be cleaned very well afterwards.
If it's just dirt and gas stains, try a caustic mag wheel cleaner. Not the "good for the environment" stuff, you want the nasty stuff that stinks and works. If that fails, then you can glass bead. When you think you have all the beads cleaned out of it, start over and clean in again. JMO, SPark
The finer the glad beads or sand, the duller it will turn out. Use a coarser media if you don't want it to end up very dull. Use less pressure. Then if you want to shine it up after blasting take a little tooth brush size wire brush to it.
