Here is what I have had the machine shop do so far:

    Check for cracks
    Clean the block
    Install brass freeze plugs
    Install cam bearings
    Install rear main seal
Install new 347 balanced rotating kit
    Bored .030 over
Check deck height and clearance ('76 block)
    Notch cylinders for 347 stroke
    Install cam and degree

What else should I have them do before I go to pick it up? Anything I am missing? Anything else recommended?

Sounds like you got all the bases covered as long as they did everything correctly. You might want to check that oil pick up is the correct distance from the oil pan, get a hardened oil pump drive shaft, check and make sure pushrod geometry is correct. Correct weight harmonic balancer and flexplate or flywheel.

    Have fun and enjoy

I am buying all that new as well. All except the oil pan. Going to clean it up and re-use it. I plan on using some clay at the bottom of the pan to see where the pick up measures to. Yes, the balancer and flexplate are exactly what I need. 28oz externally balanced.

Hmm, as far as the pushrod geometry goes, I'll have to sort that out once I get my new heads and figure out what rocker arms to use.

be sure to use minimal amounts of clay for checking.. or just slip a baggie over the pickup to keep any clay out of it's screen. I can't even remember all the times my buddies have had to pick the clay out of the screen because they got carried away with the amount used. And yes.. I've learned that lesson the hard way once or twice myself. lol

    Sounds like a nice build.

Did they balance whole rotating assembly ? If not, then that needs to be done, especially for any stroker kit made up of aftermarket parts.

Oh yeah. 100% balanced. Crank, rods, pistons, flex, harmonic, etc.

Deburr the oil drainback holes and the oil filter mounting area.
