I recently bought a 3 inch cowl induction fiberglass hood from us body source.com. It came in the mail with a chunk missing out of it which wasn't done from shipping it was definitely before they packaged it. It fit absolutely terrible didn't line up for anything. Has huge waves in it and all toped off with a crap spray bomb job. So please beware if you decide to buy from them. the hood took 2 months to get to my shop. I was very disappointed thank god my father has been a body man for 40 years cause I would be screwed. Hope this is a heads up for some of you guys.

I believe the poor fitment quality of 'glass pieces was the motivating factor for Maverick Man to start making his Carbon offerings.

    Thanks for the heads-up, though:Handshake

I have the same 3" fiberglass cowl hood, and yes if your not a body man you will be in a heap of trouble, but considering I only ended up paying $200 shipped ill work with what I have.... or we all can drive around with the hoods off haaa. But yeah next hood I get will be a maverick man hood for sure.

Yeah, but at least I was expecting it, and if I can come up with any mods or anything at least I can do them and not feel bad about messing with something too expensive

yeah.. GrabberGT just painted his not too long ago. The prep is the same as any other glass hood.. though I would advice on using premium 2 stage urethane due to greater UV protective qualities.

Plus.. it would be silly to use a crappy single stage paint on that type of quality piece.

You got it Gene!:thumbs2: I was just agreeing with Comet Fever and trying to convey the fact that the OP would NOT have to worry about crappy fitment and quality from someone like Maverick Man.

No harm or sarcasm was meant:Handshake

I agree with you a 100 % I'm using ppg paint I'm painting it grabber green. I couldn't believe the price of paint it was 450 a gallon but I got a good hook up at my local paint place.

Two 1973 LDO Mavericks (one 4 Drag one 4 driving like Mad on the roads :) ) also have a 75 6cyl Stock! Ok, well sort of Stock :P
Sorry to hear that but you are not the only one that got taken including myself. As someone said this is what got me started in doing these years ago. Some people will say mine cost too much and take the cheap route. But by the time you ad it all up your fiberglass on will cost more then what it cost to buy mine in the first place. I have to say its all the time but "I told you so." (not meaning you but in general).

As says on my website. You think carbon looks cheap or .... well paint it. There are more the a few people whm have painted the hood.

Come the end of the year I should have a new prototype cowl hood. And then will go back into production on it.

Also if anyone has noticed now more of these companies are starting to do carbon fiber too now. I think it is funny since they can't even do Fiberglass right what makes them thing they can do carbon fiber... Lol!

Best of luck with that hood. Btw I can tell you right now that the cowl part on that hood you have will also hit the cowl on the car. Lol ;)
