recently painted my 1970 maverick. It's not a street car, just a car my dad and I drag race and tinker on. I need opinion on what color to paint my bumpers. Im thinking white to match the body, but I don't want to have too much white. Thinking of breaking it up with some sort of black stripe down the side...not sure on that yet..that will be last. If anyone has any pics of a white two door with matching bumpers could they please post it so I can get a visual. This is the car the day I painted it

Bumpers on Mavericks/Comets should be chrome.

Anything but black (unless its a black car), when people do that it cheapens the look of the car, makes it look like some junker. People have done it in the past, and it looks awful. There is a white comet with white bumpers in the project section, and it looks pretty good.

Personally, I think chrome is overrated, and that a nice flat silver can really look unique, but that one just looks like they polished off the chrome.

yea it kinda looks that way in those pictures but its paint. The guy I bought that car from said it was hammertone paint. It's kinda textured when you get up close to it.

I'd go for a silver a little less dull, slightly more luster.

You can clear cote the silver......there are choices for the clear coat that can make it glossy and deep or matt ( not shiney) check out summit

Has anyone ever seen a wrap applied to these(or any) bumpers? Could be shiny chrome or about any color/tone one could imagine...

I vote for silver paint, and that's it. Unless you can find a nice gunmetal paint. I think it would set off nice against the white body, and black grill/valance.

I love black but silver does look nice if its the right shade.
you could do a silver lining under your doors all the way back and up and over the trunk at the very edge where the spoiler goes kinda like the old mopar stripe and have white bumpers with a silver tail light panel the trunk lip that hangs down would be white along with the 1/4 extensions being white on the back and silver on the side

if you use the (I think its by rustoleum) grey/silver hammer tone that would be really cool or if you could find a metal flake silver or aluminum color

you already have the white done and prolly $25 in spray paint would do the stripe
