I am in the process of doing a 351 swap in a '77 maverick.
I know I need a 50oz unbalance flywheel, and these don't seem difficult to find, however the original (302) flywheel by my count has 174 teeth. I cant seem to find that number of teeth for either 302 or 351.

I think you might have mis counted. use a marker or something to place a start mark and one every 10 teeth it makes it a little easier.

    No 351 was factory with 50oz balance, all were 28... 302 are 28oz before '81 & 50oz after...

OK I will do it myself tomorrow. I truth I had my step son do it. But he is adamant that he counted both ones and came up with the same number. But I did have him take a sharpie and mark every tenth one.

If your C4 is case fill it should have the 157 tooth flexplate(what I just pulled out of mine)... the 164 tooth was generally used in pan fill C4 & C5, as well as AOD and is too large to fit inside the smaller bell of the case fill trans...

    EDIT

I got off on flexplate because of mine, are you using std trans?
