Steering problem

    I have a lot of play in the steering. I got the car front end completely together. When I turn, the steering wheel will rotate about a inch or two before the wheels start turning. I have not touched any of the steering parts but I did replace the pump. You can turn the steering wheel right & left within those 2 inches and the front tires want move. What do I need to tighten up or buy. I have no clue.
