Anyone planning on attending the Nat Street Rod Event in Kalamazoo Michigan this Sept. 16-19th. I plan on attending; already have my registration#1128. If so, PM me and maybe able to hook-up.
Five days till the NSRA meet. Me and the Comet are raring to go. Weather forcast lookin gud in my home area this weekend - hope it's the same in Kalamazoo. Im thinkin; I won't be suprised to be only car of my type there. what's up w/ some of u Michigan guys - bring em out - won't have long to enjoy - cold and snow will be upon us sooner than most of us wud like.
Heading to the NSRA tommorrow, bright and early. Weather suppose to be nice and cool - only 10% chance of rain the entire wkend, temps low 60's to 70's. Also, plan to pick-up some fresh apples on the return trip - load up the trunk. Hope to see some other Mav's/Comets, forum members or not.
NSRA North, Kalamazoo, MI. We did the NSRA meet for the 3 day weekend. Weather was cool and cloudy the first 2 days, only in the lower 60's, but not windy. We enjoyed the event and all the nice cars. There was approx 2400 cars with me being the only 70's vintage Comet/Mav there. I believe I saw just abt every car there as I walked the entire place each day "wore me out". Plan on attending nx year. Talked to the folks at Borgeson steering. They have a PS conversion that is claimed to fit most Fords that eliminate control valve, slave cyl and Ford pump, replacing it w/ GM Saginaw pump. I will ck into it; as I have a real intrest in keeping my PS setup. I will go into it in a new thread at some poiint in the future once I have more details. BTW: Lots of cars from Ontario there.
I was driving from Kalamazoo to Chicago Friday morning and am pretty sure I saw you driving the other way. It sure was distracting seeing all those nice cars drive by. Tried to get there on Saturday but didn't work out. I'll be there next year though.
NSRA North/Kalamazoo The show is coming up this year the 14th. of September 2012. I have reservations and my entry pre-registration #519. I hope I will be physically able to make/attend the event. I had knee surgery the 30th of July and still vry much in the rehab mode. At this point, I am not sure. I am improving slowly and the date is coming fast. Anyway, I am looking fwd to going. Time will tell.
I'm planning on going. i have not registered yet, but i only live 25 miles away form the fair grounds. hopefully you will be up to it.
Anyone else planning on going besides BigDog41364 and myself? I have some friends and brother who will be attending.
Yep! I made it this weekend. Lookin fwd to the nx one. We had fantastic weather, good food, met two other folks who owned Mavericks. I was the only one I saw at the NSRA meet; not to say I was the only one there. With abt 2300 cars there and me walkin w/ the aid of a walkin stick - no way I can say for sure. I met these folks at a cruise inn Sat nite where there were probably 4-500 cars. I did not see there cars, after abt 12 hrs of being on the move, I was not up to walking arnd the grounds where cars were all over the place. We meet a lot of nice folk, sat under some trees and had lunch a few beers and told some car tales. I did see one light tan Mav motoring along one of the main roads frm my seat in a resturant, don't know if it was at the event.. I do realize that the $70.00 fee for the wkend show including club membership probably discourages a lot of the folks at the Cruise-inn frm attending the NSRA event. I met one of the Maverick owners at the show when he came across my car and informed/convinced me to come to the cruise-inn. He did'nt get there till 9.00pm and by then, I was plum tuckerd out and had just started to pull away frm the main site at Arby's. I also, want to hook-up w/ Bigdog411364, but he had some car mechanical issues and did not get there in time to register and was not allowed on the grounds. He did call me and I was suppose to get back to him to inform him of the location of the cruise-inn; I got pre-occupied and plum forgot. For that, I must apologize.
No need to apologize Thou I'm not real happy with the NSRA people, i made it to Kalamazoo in time to register but there web site and the registration form both said the "Clarion Hotel" witch i found out after driving around for 45 min closed 3 years ago. we got to the right hotel 15 min late, they where gone already. then we drove to the gate all we got was "nope" and "sorry". Sorry for the rant but as you can tell im still steaming a little.
NSRA North/Kalamazoo 2013 I plan on going agn this year (Sept. 13-15th 2013). If we make the event, will be there Thursday -Sat. Have reservations at Econo-Lodge 3750 Easy St. Kalamazoo. Hope to see some of the folks in the area, frm the forum. For those who may want to register, Headquarters site: Four Points by Shearton, 3600 Cork St.
Hey MOJO I will keep my eyes open I plan on going Friday to the swap and to talk to venders. Look forward to seeing you. Rick
Attended the event the weekend of Sept. 13-15 2013 and hookup w/ Rickm a member on the forum. Met Rick @ the 2011 RU. Had an enjoyable time chatting w/ Rick, his brother Fred who has a vry nice 37 Ford and is also quite the conversationist. I thought Rick was gud but I think Fred has him beat . I enjoyed chatting w/ all those in their sml group. Lookin fwd to attending nx year -- may rent a scooter nx year -- done awful lot of walking. There were appx. 2500 cars in attendance and frm what I, my brother and 2 other friends in our group saw-- there were only 2 cars of our kind out of the 2500; mine and another guy who lives abt 5 mi. frm me w/ a red grabber he bought this March that was listed on Ebay/ Craiglist "not sure which" that some folks were commenting abt the being over priced. Im assuming the dealer he got it frm did'nt do much in the way of price negoiating. Anyway, whatever he paid for it -- it emphasized how much he liked the car -- that' s all that really counts -- IMO...
