Hi, new to the forum came here for information and parts locating and to learn about the new projects I bought. The Maverick thing started when I asked the wife what she wanted me to build her since its her turn. She asked for a early Maverick because her grandmother had one when she was a little girl and she loved it. So I located two, a 70 & 72 both solid 2 door cars. I have a fresh mild 66 289, comp 268 cam, 289 performer intake with some mild bowl clean up and a port match on the heads with a c4 to go in the 70. Looking forward to the build though most of my performance cars have been GM I have always kind of liked the mavericks more so than the 70's mustanks.
Welcome. Mavericks are awesome. I'll ignore the Mustank comment. Looking forward to the build. Keep us posted.
from Stone Mountain, Ga. Good quality used parts can be found here in the "Parts for sale" section of the forum. There is also a "Parts Wanted" section for posting items you are looking for. For reproduction parts you should have a look at "Autokrafters", "Melvin's Classic Ford Parts" and "Period Perfect Parts Group". This website will prove to be lots of help as well http://1bad6t.com/Maverick/repair/exploded_views.html
Thanks for the warm welcome. Steve Harris, I had a friend in HS that has a Mach 1 just like yours. And we have pet names for each others cars they call my Firebird a Fireturd and the names go on and on but its all in fun though the BS stops at the staging beams. Besides all that I have owned all of the big three so its safe to say I appreciate American iron.
pics of the 70 Heres a couple pics of the 70 that the now previous owner sent me. They are being delivered tomorrow. She wants it painted "thanks vermillion" red.
to the board..... My 70 Grabber is "Thanks Vermillion" also known as "Calypso coral". Nice color choice on her behalf....
