I have searched threads and seems to be no solution. When I put gas in it spits back. Has anyone taken the baffle out of the middle of the filler tube? Or taken the flapper out or both?

If this problem is noticeable as you are filling the tank, I would suspect something partially blocking the fill neck (perhaps neighborhood kids placed something in the neck?) I would remove the filler neck completely and search for a blockage within the filller tube/neck.

Looking at searches many people have the same problem.

I think it's the late tube. the unleaded only has a restriction in it so you couldn't put a regular gas nozzle into it.

You will want to replace your filler neck with a late model neck. The late model neck will fill faster without splash-back. After I swapped to the late model style I can now go 80% wide open without any problem. Before with the old neck it was a slow go getting gas. Most late model filler necks I see in the junkyard have the flapper door removed and the opening enlarged for the regular leaded fuel nozzle...and this ruin them.

    filler necks

I remember alot of punched open filler necks........when unleaded fuel first came out it was more expensive. not every station had it. I think it was about five cents more.
