Got everything back together, threaded the galley plugs. did a official run for 20min at 2000-2500rpm 50psi oil and around 210 temp. motor ran great. i checked my tranny dipstick and the oil is black/dark purple i had it get rebuild by a company with new seals and gaskets n' such. also new torq-verter i put 7 quarts in, i know your supposed to do 8-9, i was just going to fill it up exact after the break in. (stupid idea on my part) You think i fried it up? i touched the tranny cooler line and it was almost too hot to touch (i dont know how hot the line is supposed to be) ill dump the pan and check the oil out in greater detail after doing that should i just fill the tranny back up and just see if it works? sorry im posting so much but i need some help here. after i fix one thing something else breaks haha
yup, i dont understand why the oil should have burnt...unless if the shop screwed up something. ugh. you think its safe to change the oil and try driving it?
Talk to you tranny guy, but I will bet he will tell you that it needs to come out and get torn down Sounds to me like it is more than just running it without enough fluid
Haha well i would like to have it at least driving before stuff breaks!! Well i talked to the guy who rebuilt my tranny, he said to just put new fluid in and give her a go and see if it works. i dropped the pan and got most of the fluid out today. this weekend ill try to drive it. ill keep my fingers crossed!
Yeah I hear ya, try putting $10,000 + in it and only driving it a few miles and finding something else is wrong, you will break more when you start driving it more.
don't forget about that in the converter. you may want to put 5 or so qrts. in fire it up for a min. or two and drain that out.
