I have a 1972 Comet GT, black in very good condition. I am thinking about selling it. Does anyone know what the going price for comets of this era are.
I have no clue because it is truely one of kind.

The exterior and interior are in very good condition. Two bucket seats and all the interior is custom black leather with grey accents. The engine is a 302 in good working order, but it is not the original engine.

I am thinking about selling it, but I don't know if I am going to be able to part with it. It is a hot car. But it is not practical for me to have two cars. And I don't drive it enough. I think I could only sell it to some one who truely appreciate the Comet GT. I'll try to add some pictures to this tread in the next day or so. Anyone have an idea how much it be worth.

Without seeing it in detail, it is tough to call. Rust is the big factor in my book on what these types of cars are worth. Although the Comet GT is very desirable, they are not rare in the mass production numbers that they were produced in. There was a really nice one, and I mean showroom nice, that was on ebay and sold for $5500. That was the BIN price and it went right away, which leads me to believe that it would have went for more if the auction ran its full course.

Collector Car Trader online is a great place to research buying trends in used cars. It will give you an idea of what is out there and what people are asking for them.

I would love to see some pictures when you get them. Also, what part of the country are you in?

thanks for the tips! collectorcartraderonline.com is a very cool site. But it made me want to buy more comets instead of sell mine :(

I am located in Atlanta. A mechanic helped me fix it up back in 92. I wanted to try and fix up an old mustag but I could not find a decent body for the right price. But the mechanic found a comet body and said I might like that too. I had never heard of comet GT before but once it was fixed up w/ hood scoop and custom interior. I was not disappointed. I'll post some pic this weekend.
