has anyone used anything other than maverick exhaust manifolds on their mavs with 302.im looking for some,i will be going junkyard hunting this weekend so was kinda trying to see what I can look forThanks! i dropped a 351W down in amaverick once and i kow the engine sits a little higher in the bay but i used a late 70,s f-100 driver side manifold and it fit and cleared the gear box perfectly
Only Maverick manifolds are gonna fit well. If you want to use something other than Maverick manifolds, you might as well get headers.
AFAIK all the earlier 289(ex Hi-Po) and 302 are mostly same with rear outlet on passenger side, and same or outlet between cyl 7 & 8 on drivers(these are more like '70-up)... Nothing to be gained with any of these manifolds... The earlier 351W manifolds are usually configured same as Mav, but good luck on finding a pair in the junk yard...
baddad how much did u want for the manifold? does the 351w manifolds fit a mav with a 302?if so do u have photo of the manifold
I have a pair of 66 289 manifolds if all else fails. Hs anyone tried a pair of Fox Body manifolds? It would seem they're in a tight spot too?
Those things have a cavern for under hood space compared to Mav/Comet... Could likely use the iron 5.0 manifolds but there's no chance the tube headers will fit... I'm 99% the 5.0 T-Bird/Cougar manifolds are same ones as full size Crown Vic & Grand Marquis, none are performance pieces...
