I was recently given a Ford maverick by my father well lets just say im starting from the ground up. So I will be trying to keep this car as stock looking as possible and back to original. I have one major question can anyone decode my Vin number Please. I've tried and it confuses me from the first number. Well here it is: 1K91236031. I look forward to reading and posting progress pictures of my adventure into restoring this beast.

"I will be trying to keep this car as stock looking as possible and back to original." we all know what this really means...
Why not???? I seen a lot of Mavericks the last 5 years or so since I owned a Maverick. One of the nicest one I saw personally was Dan Hines' stock looking '71 Grabber.
You're missing a digit from that VIN(the engine identifier, 5th digit)... Otherwise it's 1971(1) built at Kansas City(K) 2dr std Mav(91) and the 136031 scheduled for production at KC(VIN start at 100001)... Nothing wrong with stock assuming equal condition, probably 95% of the time they are a easier resale than a modded one...
Stock Mavericks are just plain boring, although Grabbers look pretty sporty. The Maverick in the original post is not a Grabber, and Dan's Grabber is far from stock (and is an awesome car).
I like the clean look the motor in it though is a 351w, i still have to modify the towers and the front suspension. Im glad i found this site though a lot of helpful information
