    header bolts...

(And you guys thought I was going to say something bad about the headers)

Problem is the bolts are 1 1/4", flange is 3/8" & bolt hole depth is approx 1", what am I supposed to do with the remaining 1/8"??? Yeah they sent some washers but those are too thin to be of any help, plus won't fully fit into the space between the bolt hole and header tube at some positions... In the real world the bolt ought to be approx 1/8" from bottoming out, not that much to long...

I thought maybe the bolt holes in my off shore heads were to blame, but depth in stock & Twisted Wedges are same... Anyway I don't feel like hacking them off, so I'm gonna pick up some 1" header bolts...

I also seem to remember an issue with the header bolts. I used stainless steel ARP bolts.

Something's off in your math. You have a 1" deep hole plus 3/8" thick flange, minus a 1 1/4" bolt. That should leave 1/8" slack at the bottom of the hole even without washers... :hmmm:

not to mention that the gaskets are usually add at least another 1/8 inch thickness to the equation.

I use 1.5 inch length bolts on most of my motors..regardless of brand.. due to the thicker remflex gaskets I typically run on everything these days.

The holes are not usually threaded the whole length. I remember spacers that were about a ΒΌ" thick. I think NAPA carried them. :)

    Good catch... (y)

I'll measure again, bolts are still gonna be approx two threads too long though...

One would think for $400 they could get the bolt length correct...
