Chris, I just called ridetech to ask them about their Strong Arms for the 67 to 70 mustang. They said they could not guarantee they fit a maverick but that we use the same LCA and strut rod and that they had sold a set that was put on a Maverick but didn't know if they did any fab work. Just wondering if it might be you? Pretty cool looking set up.
Wasnt me. I told them a month ago that they needed to make us a kit. It would take minimal changes to an existing kit for it to work. Just a shorter steering center center link.
maybe. Or just redrill the center link to fit. My centerlink from Gateway performance is drilled for both Mustang and Maverick. There really isnt much difference between the 2. I'd go with a baer tracker bumpsteer kit to make it work. The center link is set up to eliminate bumpsteer on the mustang so it MAY induce bumpsteer on the mav.
good to know so as long as i drill the correct spot for the maverick their should be no induced bumpsteer? just use a factory mav center link as a tensile to drill new holes?
It should be that easy but cant say for sure without trying it. There are a BUNCH of little things that are being assumed when making this determination. I told Bret (Ridetech owner) that we were having this discussion about using these parts on our Mavs. He couldnt comment on whether it would fit or not as he knows nothing about the Mav other than it looks the same. He did say that if it were him choosing a suspension for the Mav, it would be the TCP with Ridetech coilovers.
Chris, In your opinion, are the Ridetech coilovers in someway better that the VariShocks that TCP uses? I have the VariShock Q2 waiting to be installed. Also, out of curiosity, what spring rate are you running? Micah
I really can't compare them. I went from single adj varishocks with 450 springs to triple adj ride tech with 350 springs. The ride is much nicer now. With more tuning time I think k I can get it about perfect.
