'71 Drive Shaft - What can it handle?

    I dropped off the drive shaft, axels and center section at the shop today. They think the shaft will be OK as long as I use good U joints.

    Thanks for the input. I just wanted some ideas before I dropped it off.

    I`ll stay w/ Dennys because they build a high quality prdt,I`ve seen more than one of them,& it all depends on what you are going to use it for.Eventually my car w/ the 2nd mtr I plan to build will be a high horsepower stck shft,13in x 32 slick race car.This puts tremendous pressure on your driveline,so I will buy one from them rated to 1000hp & won`t have to worry about slinging it out.I`m not saying a local shop can`t do a good job I`m just not willing to chance it.

    1972 Ford Maverick 2-door & 1996 Ford F150 4wd w/ 429ci/granny low 4spd
    I gave $205 for used aluminum one off ebay with new u-joints
    that was made for a fox body/ sn95 and it fits great, but I also converted to a 8.8 rear axle
