    This happened to my buick, but wasnt due to cold rather the tumbler? in the ignition cylinder lock.
    i usualy dipped my key in motor oil and then insterted key and kept playing/working it while also moving steering wheel...sometimes it took 10 minutes for the key to turn and start the car!..eventually this didnt work anymore and had to replace the ignition lock

    ah, ditching the mav for a mooosestang :-(
    That kind of sucks, but I understand.
    I went through similar route when i had a 79 regal, i wanted to convert to 455..but instead sold that when I picked up a 72 skylark with v8 in it already
