I have a 71 250 carter carb. EGR valve is at the carb base. I also have a non EGR base from my 1970 250 parts car. Is it as simple as swapping the bases out to remove the EGR? Where is the connection between the exhaust and intake? Or is there ran internal modification within the intake itself requiring an earlier non EGR head?

    Thanks!

The earlier base will work fine! You may need to put in a nipple for your PCV valve if it doesn't have one. The hose for the PCV must connect to a port directly under the carb. If it isn't connected this way, the fuel distribution will be unbalanced. :)
