I am using a distributor cap adapter that has male terminals on a factory distributor. The cap adapter is for an 85 mustang I believe.Do I stick with the original 15426378 or the 302 5.0 firing order?

Just use the firing order for the 302 engine in you car, that is if the car is stock and the cam has not been swapped out for a different cam for a 5.0 or 351.

The reason that it is changed for the 5.0 is because the cam is different and has a different firing order.

The camshaft determines firing order & nothing else...

Thanks everyone.I installed shorty headers yesterday and I took out all the plugs and I couldn't remember what firing order to use when I was done.

Tomorrow I will go to the exhaust shop to connect my mufflers
    Merry Christmas!
