Are the fenders the same on a 1970 and 1974 Maverick and the header panel in front?

Not the same, but 74 fenders can be made to work by cutting a notch in the front to accommodate the smaller early bumper. Other than the notch, they bolt up the same on all cars. Stone guards and valances are different and you will need to get the right ones to convert to a small bumper.

If they are in good shape you should get them, like Eric said you can make those work. If they are straight and rust free you will be dollars ahead. You could get them to trade or resale to get the early fenders.

Well... I have to pull them LOL So I would have only if I needed them. These are in Caldwell, ID if you need them at Jalopy Jungle.

Now if I can find a 4 speed for a Mustang King Cobra and an oil pan I would be doing great! LOL

    Thanks!

Be sure to get the headlight buckets with the fenders. Somewhere in '74 they changed bucket size to a shallow bowl style with different adjustment spring mounting locations. The fender's metal behind the bucket is different too. Get the headlight bezel also if they have a different bucket or you will have to remove the bezel to adjust the headlight. Here is how I made a template to notch the big bumper fender. http://1bad6t.com/Maverick/maverick_38.html Below are pics of different headlight buckets, fender's metal behind bucket, adjustment hardware changes and bezels.

Well, I'm passing on them - I won't be getting another Maverick... LOL I have too many cars as it is and not enough room and I don't want to part with any of them...
