Hello everyone. I am going to be buying a carpet kit for my dad(he is slowly restoring a 73 Grabber). My problem is that I don't remember what kind of carpet it had(cut or loop). The carpet is in another state(AZ) and I tried to see if my dad knew what kind of carpet it had, without giving it away that I was buying him new stuff, but he can't remember.

I know I will not be able to have the carpet here in time for Christmas, but I atleast want it ordered so that I can tell him it will be on its way.

So, would anyone know if the 73 Grabbers had cute or loop carpet?

    Thanks.

I am pretty sure it was loop. I cut pile started first in the Mavs in the LDOs. The Grabbers had the same carpet as the others, which was loop until around 74-75??

It does have the "luxury" type interior so I am not sure if this means it has the LDO option.

Is it possible for the 73 Grabber with LDO to have the cut carpet? I remember very little when we removed it a year ago.

I bet this is one of those things that you will find that both cut and loop were used. Ford probably had a "guideline specification" on which one to use. But like so many other parts and options on the Maverick, if they ran out of one, they would just use the other to keep the production line moving.

I like the loop myself. You can't go wrong if you buy it.

I prefer the cut because it is easier to keep clean. Loop is nice because it doesn't "smash" down as easily as cut.

The LDO package cannot be had on the Grabber. I say go with whatever looks better to you.
