So I just started thinking about my distributor options for my rebuild. Below is what I pulled out of the donor engine, I've done nothing with it except pull it out and try to identify it. I didn't find any part numbers or distinguishing marking except for the "motocraft" stamp.

It doesn’t look like a DUI or Duraspark to me and I am positive it's not a Load-O-Matic. That and I can't find a picture to confirm what it is? Really not sure what to do with it. I know for sure it's electronic ignition and a step up from the distributor in my car now (which I installed the Pertronix ignition module). I'm certain I'll go electronic ignition for my build but I just don't know if this is worth messing with?

All opinions welcome, just trying to figure out what's what.

    Thanks!

That is a Duraspark I...it was replaced with a Duraspark II. The DSII has the bigger cap

I assume the better way to go would be DUI or DSII. Is it even worth fooling with? I'm
pretty convinced its headed toward the scrap pile.

I wouldn't pitch that! If I'm not mistaken, that dizzy has a good mechanical advance curve and the newer Duraspark II style adapter, cap, and rotor fit right on it. :)

Duraspark I and Duraspark II is way better than a DUI/HEI
