the 300 is a bigger and longer block. the fan will hit the core support and youll need custom motor mounts. but anything is possible. why not just go with a 302? that will be alot easier of a fit than a 300 6

The 240 and 300 is a "big block" 6 cylinder, designed for trucks and big cars and is totally diffrent then the "small block" 170/200/250. Very few parts will interchange and it will not be a bolt in in a Maverick.

Pretty much fit. The 300 is definately longer that the small sixes which will require some ingenuity on installing a fan as a conventional fan would never fit between the motor and radiator. I'm not sure if this motor is taller as well, it could be. However, this kind of swap has been done before. Motor mounts would have to be custom and headers as well. I guess it depends on how much money you have...lol :D With the introduction of an aluminum head courtesy of Mike at FSSP for the small sixes (http://www.classicinlines.com/) which will have a detachable intake manifold that will flow unbelievablly well, the small six is a great motor to hop up...IMO (y)

The motor is taller, wider, and longer.

you should just build up a small six or just go with a V8, if you can get a 300 in there more powere to you but why bother?
