Will the Ford 300 cubic inch inline 6 drop evenly into a '71 mav 2 door? if so, will i need a stronger front end than the one for a 200 cu.i.? Would there be any torque//horsepower advantage?

also, does anyone here know where i can get the aussie fule system, the one that has the triple 2bbl carb set up?

    300?

I believe that the 300-6cyl. is a lot taller and wont fit under the hood. not to say it wont work. If you have the tools, anything is possible. That engine should provide ALOT of torque as it was used in trucks.

awesome, so really all i need is to cut back the firewall a little and find a tall hood?

Actually, it will fit without firewall modifications. The front of the engine will be much farther forward, however. You will have to make allowances for that. Belt driven fan is completely out of the question. Electric "pusher" fan is required. Years ago (1970-72) my father ran a 65 Falcon Sprint in NHRA Modified Production (H/MP class). One of the main guys in the class was Bruce Sizemore, who happened to be a Ford engineer. Sizemore ran the 300" six in a '70 Maverick with three Weber IDA downdraft carbs. Engine fit fine.....carbs required a scoop. A standard four barrel carb intake from Clifford should keep the carb below the hood line. If you have to use any adapters then it'll get into the hood.

By the way....Dad kicked Sizemore's butt regularly. It was great. Eventually held the record at 11.14. Set it against Glen Self's 292" Camaro at State Capital Dragway in Louisiana.

300's are good engines (I have 1 of them in a truck and one in a '78 Van), but I think your time would be better spent on a 302.

But it's your car, your money, and your time. I'm just offering some friendly advice FWIW (not much). :)

Sorry...missed that part of the question. Check with Clifford Research.
