Hey guys im building a 1970 maverick with a 302 and a AOD. It has disk brakes and an 8 inch rear. Im just wondering if some mustang FR500 will fit in the back of a maverick? I have a chance to purchace but dont know if I should due to the fact if I dont know if the will tuck in the quarter panels. Has anyone done this? Any info would help thanks.

These have 7" of B-S so you would need 2.5" spacers to keep the tires (no larger than 275's) from hitting the leafs on the inside and would need to trim the wheel wells significantly to make room for them on the outside.

I have 17X9.5 on mine with 4.25" B-S. Looking for an 18X9 with about the same. 10 I think is too wide without doing at least a minitub.

A whole bunch of Mavs in differente set-ups, from road race cars, to restomod and absolutelly original vehycles.
I use 18x10 on mine...however I confess I don't know the BS on that wheel. Since I had'em before starting the restoration, all I had to do is a mock up and cut the inner lip of the front and rear fenders.
PS: My car is lowered...A LOT (I've seen people use 18x10s on stock height Mavs with no issue, however I don't know the specific BS on those wheels...)

Pics would be great if you got em. If you made them fit without any inboard clearance issues, I may go for it on mine.

Yeah it would be nice to see some pictures. MFG did you have to use spacers to fit the rims?

I'll try to get pics as soon as possible.
Yes, I did use spacers (on the rear only)
