Hi guys, I have a question for you. What is the correct way for the door glass to be fitted on a 1970 ford maverick? I have taken the doors apart to re-skin the bottom half and i have found a load of broken plastic snap rivets holding the glass in place. When i put it back i want it to be right. Thanks
The plastic rivets are available from auto glass replacement centers. They simply go through the mating holes in the frame bottom and the glass from the interior side of the door.
Thats great thanks. Is there any web sites that i can buy directly from i'm in the UK and mavericks are uncommon here. I spoke to my local mustang parts supply guy and he said he didn't do anything like that because mustangs have bonded door glass.
Don't know of a source off hand, you can try doing a search for "plastic drive rivets" once you know the diameter and grip range. Or maybe a nylon bolt and nut might work?
Door glass push rivets I have box of 50 of the correct rivets for the bottom of the windows if you or anyone else need them. You can contact me at Murphy's Automotive 757-549-6665 Thanks Brian Murphy.
