I bought a 1970 maverick with a 6 cyl and I also bought a 1975 comet with a 302 ,five lug disc brake. My question is can change out rear ends even thou the 1970 dose not have staggerd shocks in the rear. Another question is ,did the 71 and newer mavs have shock tower supports that I should take off the comet before it goes away and maybe a crossmember. Thanks Bryan

You can put the 8" rear in the '70 but you have to get the correct lower shock mounting plate. I too have a '70 and I've had 8" and 9" rears under it. I used early Mustang mounting plates. If you're refering to the supports that go between the firewall and the shock towers, all Mavericks had them. If yours doesn't you better get them.
