Hey guys i am helping my son work on his 72 grabber 9302)and of course the rats have eaten all of the vaccum off of the motor..what i need is a vaccum diagram for this car. i have found some online but nothing matching this car. it has a vaccum port that screws into the water jacket with three places for vaccum. the distributer has only one vaccum hose to it and there is a vaccum tee on the back of the manifold..anyone have a vaccum diagram for this beast..your help would be greatly appreciated.
OK you may want to change your heading for the thread. LOL. Ive been shopping for a vacuum for days. You got me all excited. Someone on here has a diagram Im sure.
What about the '73 and up versions? Something close to those? Or try here: http://1bad6t.com/Maverick/repair/exploded_views_emission.html
the car does start and has a rebuilt 2 barrel carb on it but it runs like crap and has a lot of black smoke pouring out of the exhaust like the carb is loading up..has a new tune up kit as well..any ideas as to weather the vaccum will do this or are you thinking carb?
I would say to follow that diagram, just exclude the rear diaphragm port. Maybe someone else with more dual port distributors experience can chime in.
I would get your vacuum lines squared away first. Vacuum leaks usually cause lean conditions, not rich conditions. You may end up looking at the carb/choke system next.
