Alright, ive got my maverick running now and ive been driving it around my neighbor hood gettin things checked out.

    Here's what ive replaced:

    Fuel pump,
    Fuel line,
Fuel filter ( add on ),
    Oil filter,
    Oil,
    Rear differential fluid,
    Shocks ( front and back),
    Brake shoes and pads,
    Carburetor,
    Tires.

When driving at lower speeds, the maverick will lightly shake side to side, after accelerating, there is a squeal in the rear differential area, past that the steering colum and car will shake violently at around 35-45 mph. What could be the problem?

    Thanks for the help!

Might be a couple of problems. I would inspect the universal joints and the front tires.

X 2 on universal joints, squeal could be them along with vibration.

With a shake in the steering column at the speed indicated, a very common cause is a bad idler arm. Very easy fix, just be careful to get the correct one for your model year ... there were early and late versions.

Easy way to check this is to visually check the idler arm and gently pry on it to see if there is any slack.

With the other symptoms, it sounds like u-joints or the rear axle needs attention too.

Sounds like more than just a idler arm, check the D/S & U-joints first, could maybe have a bent D/S, wheel or axle...
