I found a local guy selling a rebuilt 83 302 .60 over with 351 heads, complete carb to pan less water pump and distributor. I swapped a mild 302 in her but want more gogo so I'm hoping it will be an easy swap. anything I need to know as far as distributor, bolt patterns, c4 bolt up, etc...? will the 351 heads fit in between the shock towers, will my 302 headers fit the 351 heads?

    thanks

Gosh, I hope you mean 0.060" over. :hmmm:

Cylinder heads are the same exterior dimensionally, 289/302/351.
351 heads need cylinder head bolts with a thicker shoulder.

Pass on it. .060 over in those years (80-85) is nothing but trouble. Way too far to bore one of those. 351W heads are the same dimensionally as 302 heads, and there's a good chance they are actually 302/351 heads, since after the 76 model year, all 302/351W's used the same heads, only difference was the head bolt holes being drilled out for the larger bolts.

I'd pass also on any 302/351W that is .060 over. Even if it runs fine now, you can never go any further out with it. Of course, all bets are off if it is really, really cheap. :)
