221-302 info?

    hey yall, i recently got a offer on what i believe to be a 260 ford V8 in a 1964 galaxie, but im not 100%, can yall help me with the engine code letters (in the vin)???? also, will a 302 intake fit on the 221, 260, 289 motors???
    any help is greatly appreciated!

    I can't help you with decoding the VIN. Try a '64 or other years Galaxie site for that.
    The 260-302 intakes are the same.

    260-302 is same , others will not fit

    I believe the 221's were only used in 62 and 63 Fairlanes. I had a 62 with a 221 in it. It is the same block as a 260, 289 or 302. an intake for either would work.

    69 1/2, 70 Maverick and 71 Grabber
    Intake will fit. On another note, be careful the 221, 260 and early 289's require a 5 bolt bellhousing.

    Posted before I read Maverick 1970's post he is correct the 221, 260 and early 289's had a five bolt bell housing also did not have a PCV system only had a road draft tube with a wire mesh breather. All were equiped with a generator instead of an alternator until 1965.
