Everytime I start the 77 maverick, the 250 engine shakes so bad it rattles the car.So....... I replaced the motor and tranny mounts,nothing, then I found water on my spark plugs....blown head gasket, yep, while I was that far into it I replaced the timing chain and gears.When I pulled the rocker arm assembly I found 3 slightly bent pushrods and one that looked like a pigs tail.I never saw one look like that.Now I gotta order a new rocker arm assembly, two of the rockers were damaged too. The new pushrods I have already.its been a great holiday break,lol.
if you don`t care about proformance the heads ,rockers , and the push rods all interchange on all the 144, 170 , 200 , and 250 engins 1962 - 1983. The 1978 - 83 heads have the best proformance and any head you get you`ll want to mill it .030 to keep you`r comp up
