Just wanted to know what you guys think about these parts for my 302.

    Engine:
    Heads:
    Compression:
    Carburetor:
    Ignition:
    Cam:

    Exhaust:
    Fuel:
    Manifold

    302ci
    165cc AFR
    10:1
650 cfm Speed Demon 80/84 Jets
    MSD Digital 7, 34° Timing
Comp Cams Extreme Energy Hyd Roller Cam, 565/574 232/240 112 Lobe Sep. with 1.6 Rockers

    1 3/4
    92 Octane
    Permormer RPM Air Gap

421 Hp @ 6100 & 378 TQ @ 4500. Should be a good street motor. Found the recipe on AFR's site. Would the 8" and a T-5 hold up against it.

421 hp and a stick. doubt the rear will last too long. especially if you stand on it a few times.:)

about 3 good launches and youd need to break out the dustpan and broom. not to mention youll most likely twist the input shaft or roach a shift finger in the t-5 on your first good jam.

If you don't use the clutch what do you call it if not a power shift?

I was always told power shifting was not letting up off the gas an forcing into gear. I like my Eaton-Fuller better ;)

You still have to tap the clutch pedal. And if you do that with typical T5 transmissions you're in trouble.

You can't force it into gear if you don't let up on the gas. A powershift is just letting up on the gas enough to slip it into the next gear and then back down on the throttle. You do powershift as far as I understand.

I looked it up and I saw rev matching. That sounds just like what I do. Our Kenworth has 950,000 miles with the org trans and it has not been shifted any other way from day one. Some sites said it was bad for syncrodes and others said if done right it does nothing but save the clutch.
