Hi Everyone!! I've got a non-original 302 in my 77 mav., and I'd sure like to know what year it's from. Is there an easy way to find out about my engine from any markings? Thanks, for any advice.
On the bottom there is a cast in number with the year, sorta near the back opposite side from the starter, I might be able to post a pic tomorrow.
I though that the casting numbers were under the starter, well at least thats where my casting numbers were on both engines. But I could be wrong.
The roller 5.0 blocks have the casting numbers on the drivers side at the rear corner next to the bellhousing. The only true way to tell the year though is the date code, combined with the casting number.
