Will a 351 bolt directly to a c6 automatic? i don't know if it is a short shaft or a long shaft but i do know it is a 1987 Ford f-150 short-bed 4x4. thanks!

Depends on the case on the transmision. The C-6 had two differant cases, one for the small block(harder to find) and one for the big blocks. Russ

The tail shaft housings are different for a 4X4 than a 2WD. The 4X4 transmission bolts directly to a transfer case. Not sure about the output shaft, but I'll bet it's different too.

hmmm....well i'll look at it and get more info. It used to run a 302 small block EFI so i does that change anything?

p.s. - i want to know this b/c if my dad drops this 351 into his truck i get the 302 out of it :). (of course it'll go in the mav!)

The tranny will bolt up but the 4x4 stuff is going to cause some problems. Find one out of a car or use a c4. You will have more power at the wheels if you use the c4 and it should hold up fine.

C 6 won't be a bolt in without reshaping to floor and firewall.

It sounds like they want to put the 351 in the truck that has the C6, he just wants the 302 for his car.
