Ive got a 90 5.0 HO and i was wondering if i could use the stock flex plate with a C-4. someone told me that the c4's converters studs on the c4 dont match up with the holes on the 5.0's flexplate.
Depends on what C-4 bell you've got. C-4's came with three sizes in flexplates: 147T 157T and 164T. Only the 164T wheels came in both balance weights. There are aftermarket 157T-50 oz/in flexplates.
157T came in Mavericks. and as mentioned, you must get a flexplate/flywheel that matches your engine's balance and trans/bellhousing.... in your case you need a 157T 50 oz. imbalance, and like Scooper said, they're on eBay for $45
Thats what i thought. None of the others came in mavs. And i know about the balance deal Thats why i said it needed a 50oz balance.
147T was a Mustang II piece. 157T was what was mostly used in small to midsize cars. 164T was mostly used in larger cars and trucks. The emphasis here is "mostly". At this point in time, what's there now in any vehicle can be a crap shoot.
