5 lug axles in a 4 lug rear ???

    1970 maverick, 2007 Yamaha FZ1,.
    I purchased a set of 5 lug 8" rear axles for my 4 lug 8" rear. the guy I purchased from said they will pop right in. so I purchased them. will these work ? my car is a 1970 4 lug mav and the guy I purchased the 5 lug axles from said they are out of a maverick. thanks in advance.

    1972 Maverick 2 door.Original V-8 3 spd std shift.Also a 72 one owner Sprint sporting a 351 Windsor
    If I remember correctly(getting older every day yah know)I believe the 4 lug 8 inch axles have a smaller diameter axle bearing than the 5 lug ones.Hence the reason most guys swap in a complete 5 lug axle.I may be wrong.If not... sorry dude.good luck.

    odds are the guy that sold them did'nt know....Looking at that old thread most the Maverick people didnt even know.
