Are 69 1/2s more wanted? I've found mine to be harder to find parts for. Paid 900 for it and after finding a hood and converting to a 5 lug disk brake with all new brakes front to rear, I'm up to 3000. Could have started with a newer nicer car for that money. Whats your thoughts?

Agreed. And I wouldn't trade this one for a newer one. For me on this one, it's about the build with my son.

I don't know if they are any more desirable, but I've always kinda wanted one.

I don't believe I had any harder time finding parts for my 69.5 than any other year Maverick unless you were searching for parts specific to this early version :)

They're no more desirable then any other small bumper Maverick from what I've seen. If anything, they're just more of a pain in the a$$ due to the smaller trans tunnel, hard to find gas tank, non staggered rear shocks, etc. all of which applies to the later 1970 model cars as well. I do prefer the dash features in the '69.5 vs. the later cars. To me a '71/'72 with a '69.5 dash would be the best of both worlds.
