I need help figuring out the wires in my 69.5 maverick ignition wiring. As most of you know the 69.5 has the ignition mounted on the dash. I've also found that the colours of the wires are a bit different than the column mounted ignition. So far I've figured out that Black/Green = Acc Black = Ground Yellow = Main power Dark Purple = Red/Blue = Pinkish = Red/Yellow = Red/White = Light Purple = Any help would be much appreciated!!
Generally ford has adhered to a common wire color for most circuits, I've found most of the colors in '60s were still used in my '88 T-Bird... That said, the pinkish(far right) is the resistance wire for ign/coil... I'll have to dig some for other colors... Here's a link to wiring diagrams, unfortunately the 69.5 isn't included... http://1bad6t.com/Maverick/repair/chassis_electrical_05.html#a
Right on the money! That makes perfect sense now. Thanks for the help. Never even crossed my mind that it would be similar to the Falcon.
