We've been trying to get the passenger side in and they wont go in at all. Any tips to make these work? If you jack the engine up to fit them in will it bind at all when the engine gets dropped back in?

I know everyone uses them so..

    Car is a 69.5 Maverick with an '88 302.

Both have to go in from the bottom. Some guys say they can get one in from the top. Once you get them bolted up and drop the engine, they "might" touch the shock tower.

It is different for every car. Some guys have an inch clearance on both sides, some touch both sides. I just barely don't touch on one side (rubs if I gun the engine) and have a good 1/2" clearance on the other side.

put 6901s on my 69.5 stick car last week.....it sucked real bad...passenger side went in like nothing....did not even have to jack passenger (motor) mount...drivers side....however....had to whizzer wheel the crap out of my clutch fork...made new z bar from mustang cleveland part....disconnected drag link...car was on ramps...maybe it should have been higher...had back wheels up on rims...good luck and persevere...youl'll get it
