Ive got the bolts out, but what is connecting the skinn portion to the door? I don't want to yank it and break it....

Do a search and you should find the info you need. There was a thread a few weeks ago that covered it. The panels are held on by spring clips that have to be pried off. If you get a tool under the clip on the opposite side from the hole in the panel you'll minimize damage to the panel.

The top part of the door pull is held on by a Phillips headed screw. You have to gently pry the chrome cover off and slide it down the handle and it will reveal the screw.

Don't pry it "off"...slide it back on the handle. A putty scraper or small screwdriver will work
