I've checked around and they're not available at all. Autokrafters used to have them back in the day but not anymore.... Best bet is to buy a used one and hope it doesnt go bad.. or you can try this one:

I had this same problem this fall. I ended up going with using my old one and praying that it doesn't fail. So far so good.

What I found out is that the early year sending units will work, but they will not pick up the last 3 +/- gallons of gas (unless you do the mod to make the pick up longer). So you will be holding 3 gallons of gas you can't use.

I got mine out of a Torino with a 19 gal tank at the Pick n Pull here, works great...very accurate, when I ran out of gas it showed it was empty lol.

Same here, i'm running a 74 one which is the same as 71-73. But it marks accurate. I'm going to swap out to the mustang one soon. Because this one is 36 years old....and I don't trust 36 year old electronics.

Can you explain about the mod making the pick-up longer?
