Ok, my car has the column shifter and it's a 74, the problem I'm having isn't finding the new bellhousing, or finding the torque converter... my problem is the shift linkage. The pin that the 2 forks connent to is about 2 inches too long... and if I were to shorten it(don't know how) the fork coming from the transmission would be WAY too short...

I have the original 200CID pulled out of the car, which is a 74 block, and the '77 250 has the V-8 bolt patern, so I alreay have the bellhousing and torque converter alond with the automatic flywheel....

So the question is, how do I fix the linkage so it's not in the way? or where the hell do I get a new linkage from?

Our '72 originally had a 200. When I put the 250 in it, I found that the linkage was totally diffrent. Get a linkage from a 250 car and you'll be good to go.

This was sweet, I looked through ALL the wrecking yards here in Portlend and I found one had had like 6 Mavs, several Pintos, a few Falcons and many other old fords....

so I ended up pulling the linkage and the bracket that bolts to the tranny, it looks like it will work, so hopefully the engine will be dropped in by te middle of next week
