How much is a used 9" center section with no traction lock. A guy I know has a used center but wants me to make an offer. My plan is to take out my center that has 4:10 ratio set it a side and build a new center with 3:00 ratio for highway driving c/w traction lock. And will the used gear have a stamping with the ratio. Any tips with the swap would be welcomed. Car is a 72 Comet with top loader, mild 302 (13 sec.) street car with existing 9".
I paid $100 for one last year, had 3.50 ratio, mini spool and it was an N case. I wouldn't think it's worth more than $50 but people think they're worth the price of gold since it's a 9".
U - Pullit prices for third members is about $80-90 on the West Coast of the US. $50 for a used core is about right at swap meets. Watch out, pickup versions are 31 splined axles, car ones are mostly 28 splines on a 9 inch pumpkin.
