Hi, I just bought a 1974 Maverick Sedan in Nice, France. The car seems in good shape. It has 92 000 miles. Last owner had it for 13 years. He purchased it in Monaco (Monte Carlo). It seems that this car has been imported there by a prior owner where licence tag number was 7192 MC who owned it from 1983 until 1992.I will try to get infos in MC to trace the unusual history of this car. The actual car papers are french. Serial number is 4W92L173478. Could you give me the confirmation that this partticular car has been built in the USA and not in Brazil? Are you aware of someone else in France who would own a Maverick? Does anybody know a car mechanics who could help me here in the South West of France (near Toulouse) with the restauration of this car? Thank you.
sorry i can't help you but someone else might. but sounds lieka rare find in your area! got any pictures?
Hi and welcome to the board. Your's is the first Maverick I have heard of in France. Congratulations on your find. From what I can make out from your serial number, the plant where your car was made is called Wayne, which I assume is in the USA. If you look on your VIN tag in the doorjamb, there is a DSO number. That is the destination number for your car. If the number there is 90-99, then the car was to be exported out of the US.
Jean is right. It was made at the Ford plant in Wayne, Michigan. to the board. Pictures would be nice, we love pictures.....
Howdy and welcome. "Voulez-vous coucher avec moi, ce soir " Its the only french I know and I dont even know what the heck it means. I just like the song.
Yup - I just ran it through the Babel Fish translator: Want you to sleep with me, this evening Thats too funny Dennis --
