I was just thinking about how I was going to mount my small front bumpers to my 74 without a welder, and I was wondering if, instead of modifying the frame on the car, why not just drill new holes in the mounting brackets? I'm not really looking to make it impenetrable, I just want the damn things on, and I don't have a welder. Would it work?

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
I drilled holes in the subframe and just bolted it up with 3/8 bolts..

    works fine, no welding necessary.

I also notched the filler panel(stone guard) instead of the fenders. It's a lot simpler.

    this is a lot better(y)

i just had a bunch of SS 3/8 bolts/nuts on hands that's why i used them, but eventually i'll swap them out for 1/2' ones.

Notching the filler panel what a great idea.
