I have my engine done and i was wondering how am i going to adjust the timing because the water pump that is revers rotation is covering up the timing marks on the crankshaft

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
Can you install a pointer on the other side? (Like off a car that uses the reverse rotation pump) If so you can buy those timing mark decals that they sell. Find true TDC and attach the decal on the balancer to match up with the TDC line. Then set the timing.

    ????????????????
Why does rotation of the water pump have anything to do with covering up your timing marks?
Now if you have a 302 water pump on a 289 timing cover and balancer or the other way around it will but other than that................
it has everything to do with where the inlet for the water pump is.
Is the inlet for the water pump on the drivers side or passenger side?
